weekends and new weeks

This weekend was full of non-productivity. Adventures, but non-productivity.
The 'high light' of this non-productive weekend was my visit to the power station.

Yep, my dad is the station manager of the power station in Kwinana.

Which is way more impressive than it sounds. But, he wanted to show us where he worked, and mum really really wanted to see it. And then my grandparents came too. And they wanted to bring a friend, so George and Dorothy, their neighbours, came as well.
Here are the people who visited Verve: (plus my parents)

Why? I don't know.

In any case, since we had to wear earplugs, I couldn't hear half of the information dad was telling us. But I was impressed by his office. I wrote 'I love unions' on his board. But I thought that might get him in trouble, so I took it off.

My favourite part of the whole day was this crazy machine.

(HA! Get it?? Yeah?? Lame hey.)

And you can even get colourful earplugs.

(I didn't realize you needed to make fashion statements in coal-burning stations. And there's definitely no gay pride issues. Weird hey.)

My brother and I were just so impressed with the whole adventure.

And it was basically Lindsay's favourite day of her entire life.

But other than our adventure to the power station, there were other great events! I went to the beach with Michelle, which was fantastic. I love the waves. And cold water. And running on the beach. Brodie and I also had this amazingly amazing looking cake.

It makes me hungry again just looking at it. And I just had two breakfasts.

And this is my new favourite drink, my Fruit Tingle!

The end. *satisfied face*

Job interviews

I just had the best job interview of my life. I've been needing a bit of a change of pace from the yoghurt experience for a while, and so applied to pretty much every store in Garden City and online. And I had NO LUCK. Which was lame. BUT! Today, I got a call from K-Mart, and they were pretty much desperate for me to be a check out chick. And I was like 'Hmm... kind of lame and boring, but hey! No mopping, or sticky yoghurt on my fingers!' So I agreed to go to an interview this Saturday. The more I thought about it, the more I thought, 'Hey, K-mart is awesome to shop at, but probably lame to stand and scan all day every day.' Just a bit anyway. So I pondered a bit more, and thought 'Hmm... no.' But thought I'd go to the interview anyway, because, hey, it'd only be three months.

BUT THEN! A revelation occurred!

Mum was busy telling me about the good looking guy called Stefan (not Stefan Stefan, just a Stefan... he works with my Uncle Steve), who drove her home from dropping off the fancy fancy Land Rover we've been borrowing. And she said he did work experience with my uncle, then just stayed and now he works there.

THEN IT HIT ME! I COULD WORK WITH MY UNCLE!

Pros of working with my uncle:
1. In Fremantle.
2. Office job - i.e. NO FOOD OR SURFACES TO CLEAN FROM STICKY SUBSTANCES.
3. Christmas parties. Yup. I already got an invite. Too easy right?
4. Job interview over text messaging.
5. Whatever hours I want, anytime.
6. Nice coffee machine.
7. In Fremantle. That point is so fabulous. IT'S NOT A SHOPPING CENTRE!

Cons of working with my uncle:
1. Second summer holidays in a row I'll be working for a family member. Although absolutely nothing could be as disastrous and upsetting as working in that cement cave in Southlands. SOUTHLANDS!

So, aside from that, I had my favourite law lecture of all semester. We had the Chief Magistrate, two prosecutors and a defence lawyer come along and talk to us about the court system. It was awesome. Seriously. It was also quite wet, and I spent my day walking through uni with squelchy socks. Ah well, it was an adventure. And that was my day.
Well, it was a bit more substantial than that.
Je pense que je vais lire en francais pour le fois ensuite.

A Ponder.

I was having a bit of a ponder today on Richard Roy's sermon from last night. In particular, how he was talking about being clear of knowing Jesus.
I'm kind of lost there. I feel like I get mixed up with that differentiation - like between knowing God and knowing Jesus. And how do you know who you know?!
Weird!

Other than that, I applied for more jobs, bought Smiggle excitingness, started Romans, caught up with the ultimate Kat, adventured, Reid Cafe'd, saw Christian Porter! and bummed around.

Fun times =]

Yesterday's Adventures

So, instead of researching the intricacies of Iraq's foreign policy like I should be, I've decided to photographically demonstrate to you the events of my Thursday.

Firstly, I needed to buy hair mousse. I've never known much about the whole hair products thing, so I thought my safest bet would be to venture to Priceline and hope there was a big shelf with 'Mousse' written on it. There wasn't unfortunately, but I finally bought this because it said it would hold your hair in place:

Then, I realized a few of the other offputting connotations that came with that...

I also purchased some more exciting 50c beads!

Ali my ranga friend came over and we did some jewelry creating. Here are the bracelets I made, although this photo doesn't lend itself to them looking very bracelet-y:

We then went on an adventure to Garden City.

Hot sunglasses.

Interesting Hats.

I then departed to go to tutoring. After that, Brodie and I ventured to the beach.

It was rather windswept.

I took no more photos after that, because, well, I got over it. But then we went to Leederville and were merry.
Except I lost Trouble AND connect4. So i wasn't so merry.
The End =]

Today's Disaster

I had FINALLY finished work and was happily walking out of Garden City, armed with my new packets of wooden beads for 50c, my new Temt tops, free doughnuts from Donut King and yoghurt. I could finally see my little car parked five hundred million miles away from Garden City and was contemplating all the things I was going to do once home, when MY PLASTIC BAG HOLDING MY YOGHURT SPLIT!

So all over the road in the carpark in the far corner of Garden City is lumps of yoghurt.

Lessons I learnt:
1. Don't unevenly distribute the weight of your yoghurt in a flimsy plastic bag
2. Moo plastic bags are flimsy
3. Plastic containers holding yoghurt are quite unresistant to breaking when dropped from a not-so-great height
4. Yoghurt does not belong on roads.

And that is the end of my daily disaster.

study week!!!

Today officially marks the best week of my life, study week!
To celebrate, I applied for two new jobs, did some small annoying errands that I'd been putting off, cleaned up my room, washed my hair, painted my toenails and slept in.
It was wonderful!

I would also like to express my complete and utter excitement at the fact Christian Porter is now definitely our new attorney general =] Hooray!!

Right now, I am superfluous.
Superfluous, and superbly nonessential.

new finds!

I enjoy a bit of this blog.  Crummy Church Signs, my favourite!

And also, this blog.  Punctuation errors drive me up the wall.  It is depressing how many people don't understand basic grammar.

In other news, I had dinner at Chutney Mary's tonight; it was so tasty good!  Not quite spicy enough, but never mind.  We had Rogan Josh, Butter Chicken, and the best name ever: Dum Aloo.  Hooray!

new weeks

I love new weeks! As much as anything lame might have happened before, it's all okay because, it's a new week!
I have many a wonderful thing to look forward to as well:

Study break is only in two weeks! Finally! I will be free to relax and catch up on all the work I need to without getting behind on the current work. I have made a list board with all the lists of things I need to do. As much as it's depressing, it's kind of good to see it all on manageable pieces of A5 paper that I just need to do and cross off!

It's the election this weekend! Fantastic =D I'm working at Mt. Lawley and get to count votes and, the most exciting part, cast my first ever vote. Hooray! And at MP3 on Sunday I got to teach Laura and Michelle about how voting works. I don't think they actually cared. But no matter, it is all very exciting. And even better, it will hopefully be the end of the big crap campaign of them telling us how crap the other party is.

We are going to Southbound! Well, hopefully. But I will be in Perth and we shall go and be merry and watch lots of excellent bands!

In Easter next year we're going to Phuket. I love holidays =D Even better, I'm hopefully going to go to Europe as well in the middle of the year, so it'll be a mega year of travelling and fun countries!!!!!

I'm catching up with my school friends on Friday night. We're going to eat spicy Chutney Mary's and discuss life. It will be lovely.

365 is still so exciting. I love thinking of what fun photos I'm going to take each day.

I went to the gym today, and when I was stretching after, one of the men who I see there all the time told me I worked really hard and well done. That made me smile =]

I've bought buttons!!! Lots of pretty ones! I'm trying to decide what I'll make with them, I have a few fun ideas. I'll see what happens though.

I have this burning desire to knit a blanket. Don't know why. But I'll have to invest in some wool and some knitting needles and some good old nanna time.

Hope everyone is having a fabulously fabulous start to the week!
