almost outta there

Hatti's tonight.

Jessie's tomorrow night.

Work Sunday morning *ugh*

And then, finally, LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL.
This also happens to coincide with dad's last week at Alcoa! Then he starts at his hot-shot job at Verve. So excited! No more late nights home, no more waiting for dinner for an hour, no more 'Dad just called, he's leaving work now, so he'll be home in an hour', no more stressing out when he's late because he might have got in a car accident...
He'll be twenty minutes away! And a very important person there too.

Praise ye the Lord!

today the zylstra's spent a lot of money

.: This morning, while trying to melt chocolate, I broke our microwave. Well, it actually wasn't me, but most of the blame went to me. You see, it flashed lights and popped, and then a little stream of smoke came out. Yes...it broke so that is item number one: A New Microwave

.: This morning, yours truly was armed with vouchers and cash and determined to buy black boots. And after looking at lots of ugly and tres expensive black boots, some of which weren't really black, she found some. And after discounts, percentage offs, vouchers and birthday cash, they cost me a nifty $25. So item number two: Black Boots

.: Tomorrow I happen to have a fancy dress party. I also happened to decide on a costume. That costume needed a specific looking belt. So that was item number three: Specific Looking Belt

.: It just so happens that in approximately two weeks, the younger brother (also a cross country star - bragging rights allowed) has a thirteenth birthday - where he needs a present. So after his guitar lesson, he picked out his present. Item number four: Fender Guitar, Fender Amp, Headphones, Guitar Case and Strap (okay that was more than one item but I can't be bothered explaining each one individually)

.: Returning to the idea of the upcoming birthday party, I needed to make food (where the broken microwave originated from). I also ran out of marshmallows and needed to buy more. That leads to the purchase of items numbers five and six: Marshmallows and Red sparkly earrings

.: Also to do with upcoming party, I invaded K-Mart and the Reject Shop. This led to the purchase of items numbers seven, eight, nine, ten and eleven: Prize #1, Prize #2, Streamers, Party Poppers and a Bracelet (this bracelet has nothing to do with the party, but I bought it because I already had one like it and decided one is never enough)

So that concludes the money spending day.

Oh wait!!

.: Burnsy is staying over tonight, and him and Jarrad decided they wanted pizza for dinner. So the purchase of item number twelve: Pizza.

And THAT concludes the money spending day.

sixteen

Tomorrow.

I'm excited.
Sixteen opens you up to a lot.
Like driving.
And respect.

Sixteen gets more respect than fifteen.

I like how this year has gone.
Better than last year.

I fit in better.
And I stand out more.

I miss some friendships.
But I've gained so much out of new ones.

I hate how I've been lying to myself.
I love how I've discovered so much more of myself.

I hate that I haven't been acheiving the top.
But I'm satisfied with other things I've been involved in.

I love the groups of people I know.

I love the confidence I'm getting.

I love being known as 'the nice one'.

I love my job.

I love debating.

I love my dress sense - not that it's particularly beautiful, but it's me and I'm proud of it.

I love being able to pay for my own things.

I like who I'm becoming. Becoming being the key term here - I have a long way to go. But I've come a long way.

I love my bus.

I'm absolutely terrified of my future because everything I ever wanted to do was completely crushed today. That scares me a lot. That documentary hit me like nothing really has before - I think because it attacked parts of me that hadn't been attacked before.

But in a way I kind of like having to reevaluate everything.

It means I don't hold on to anything I don't need to.

So yeah.

I'm excited.

Very excited.

(It's not really sacreligious)

Dear Mr Murdoch
(owner of MySpace)

Please consider these ideas for your next online venture.

MyGarden - the place for folks to gather who are tired of neighbours walking the dog and allowing Helmut the great dane to *poo* on my lawn.

HighSpace - intimate site for druggies to chat about trends in meth-mouth and ways of turning compost into something smokeable.

GivememySpace - a message board for anyone looking to bug out of a relationship hassle-free.

2006WorldCupSpace - the least interesting, most simplistic and ultimately irrelevant website ever. Until the 2010WorldCupSpace.

MyWindowsVistaSpace - a site devoted to folks figuring out if we are closer to the edge of the universe than the release of Microsoft's new operating system.

*warning - serious post*

It was Lisa's party tonight - at Sizzlers =). Best bit - lollybags. I love lollybags! Just at the excitement of getting something *smiles*. But it was so weird to see everyone again - like how much all the friendships have changed, how much individual people have changed, how their values have changed - how it's basically the same people it was in year eight, but it could be totally different ones purely on attitude and dress and who they talk to and associate with now. I feel sad *sad face* I kind of miss how it used to be around them. But then I'm so grateful I left because I know I would have become someone I wouldn't be proud of if I'd stayed.

moooovay night

Last night at the lovely @mputh, we had a movie night - chocolate fountain fondue, popcorn (guys don't throw the popcorn - so much for that, someone dropped the bowl!) and Hitch. I really rather don't like this movie. I think the fact that a guy could think he can predict exactly what 'every girl wants' is pathetic, and the entire film revolves around superficiality. But hey...what can I say? Entertainment factor is big.

Anyway, the first thing I see on the cover of 'The West Australian' (okay all you academics out there, give me a break, it still reports something!) is a big photo of a couple with a smallish headline 'Traditionalists Andrew and Lara on the verge of consummate bliss'. Awwwwwww, I'm sure you're thinking? And fair enough, from the caption underneath. The two are a happy couple getting married today at my school, St. Hilda's, chapel, and have maintained celibacy to the point of not kissing each other before marriage.

How lovely.

But keep reading the rest of the article on page three of the aforementioned paper, they tell us how the two have never had sex, never seen eachother without clothes on, never slept in the same house and never kissed. Still lovely, but I'm starting to think, 'Why are they publishing this?'

Read a bit further, the two are Christians and follow seriously their faith, and decided to become 'best friends' and leave the physical side of things till after they're married. Still lovely.

Read the last paragraph. 'Channel 7's Today Tonight will reveal on Monday how the wedding night went.'

Well thanks for ruining a perfectly nice story that you two have by commercializing it and raking in a bit of cash for living a lifestyle many before you have chosen as well.

oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo oo

How cool does that look?

Yeeeahhh...I'm bored. =)

Guilt conscience on five bazillion.
Happiness factor on five bazillion plus one.

We're watching Lantana in Media - this Australian film, incredibly realistic. It's not all that brilliant as such, like not a massive glitz production like you get used to seeing, but it's really getting to me. The storylines and the characters and everything - normally I watch a movie, like it and move on, but this one I don't like but I can't get past it...it's like no matter what I try thinking, that movie is there.

Yeah I know.
Freak.

ooh happy days (ooh happy days)

Some brilliant things about today:

> I didn't force myself to eat nachos from the school canteen, but REMEMBERED TO BRING MY OWN LUNCH ON A TUESDAY
> Got back my Lit mark and was uber happy
> I didn't have to do P.E. therefore effort factor of getting changed was negative twelve million
> We once again won our debate against Trinity - impromptu suits us. I got told I gesture too much and I speak very forcefully. Hmm....great...
> Top media student - and I was planning on dropping that subject! Dammit...
> People were very happy about the soccer therefore putting everyone in a happy mood today
> I had the song Happy Days in my head - fullon gospel style - and normally I hate songs in my head, but that one is just so cool I didn't mind
> No work in Media until next week

absolute brilliance

This was in the paper, Thursday June 8 - Letters to the Editor.
Sooo..apologies to Kim Treffone of Geraldton for posting your work, but on the off chance you come across it - you are a genius.

OBE AND THE EAGLES

Dear Mr. Worsfold,
As you are aware, significant changes are planned for the 2007 football season. We at the AFL feel the current system, which has been in place for more than 100 years, is antiquated and in need of a radical overhaul to bring it into line with the 21st century.
The current system is based on a league ladder which is a narrow numerical indicator linked to a series of weekly tests. We believe a more holistic approach is required using a range of rich and deep tasks delivered in a variety of contexts.
The changes are as follows. First, the scoreboard will be removed. Goal umpires will become facilitators working with individuals or small groups to progress players along a continuum of success. Field umpires will oversee the process and allocate resources equitably to ensure inclusivity.
Players will no longer have to demonstrate competency in a range of skills but simply demonstrate an understanding of the skill in a range of contexts. For example, Quinten Lynch will no longer need to kick hte goal but can demonstrate an understanding of the process through a rap song, a power-point presentation or a skit with his teammates.
You may have heard some recent criticism of these proposals, particularly from the more senior coaches Sheedy and Malthouse. However, as Commissioner Carpenter pointed out, when was hte last time those two played AFL footy? Furthermore, Commissioner Ripper stated that if the boys didn't want to toe the line there were plenty of vacancies in under-14s.
I am confident that you will embrace these initiatives (because they will be imposed regardless) even though much of the detail is still yet to be finalised (despite our promises). I look forward to meeting you again in next year's end of season Celebration of Success (formerly the Grand Final) where the five or six teams that demonstrated significant progress and acheivement throughout the year will hold the premiership cup aloft.
Regards,
Commissioner Ravlich.

days off

I'm enjoying this whole 'slacking off' thing.
I think it should be possible to do it more often.
Like...every second day?

Oh well. It will be back to the usual hectic lifestyle sooner than later, I have no doubt. But then, I like that too. I think doing nothing all day, like I see some people do, would drive me absolutely insane. I need to be doing stuff.

Lots of good things happened today! In my oh-so-usual style, I shall make a handy dandy list of them for you, so you too can enjoy the goodness of the good things:

* The house is now clean of my mess. I did not know I was such a messy person! But now I can see my desk *smiles*
* I am once again organized for school. I say this shall last precisely until Wednesday next week, but for now it is good.
* I had lunch with my mum - mmm...sushi...
* I went to Emo-Utopia with that crazy Catty girl - and we had fun yepyep we did. 'We have to go and return your Sanity' - stupid Sanity people for being able to see through well thought out lies...
* *secret* that I shall let you all in on soon
* I saw my two lovely little girlies I babysit
* I am able to swallow tablets again!

But one bad thing did happen:
* Someone nicked off with a fair whack of my parents money. The police are now involved and the situation is looking very suspicious.

Sorry. I turned into a news reporter then. But only for that one moment!

Anyywhooo....

The girls are in bed and I have nothing to do! So I shall continue doing nothing for the rest of the night!!

Journalism

Is that even possible??

***

I'm guessing yes. But it would take a rather long time.
In happier news - exams are over and there are two blissful days ahead of nothingness.
And I have now discovered my new favourite shop - no idea what it's called but got some spunky bracelets from there and am now a devoted fan.

Methinks that they are all the same and I shouldn't care.
But...mefeels a little different to that.

...so lonely inside...
...so busy out there...
...all you wanted was somebody who cares...

some things i am thinking:

.: I should have done English. Their exam consisted of precisely two questions - and was over in one and a half hours. Mine? Three looooooong essay questions - over in three hours.
.: I cannot concentrate for three hours
.: Ooooohhh pain....*cringe*
.: Exams are highly overrated and should die a horrible death
.: I am rather drained at the moment, hence why my mood at school was not one hundred percent perky
.: I'm pretty sure I love chicken teriyaki
.: I can still feel that dead seagull stepping on it ness
.: I want to redesign my school uniform...deleting the brown shoes from existence.
.: Is it existence or existance?
