Do we need to talk?
I think yes but I can't tell.
I suck at taking first steps, but if I need to I will, cos I've decided honesty is important, and friendships are even more important.
Here's to Week Two of Year Twelve.

some things i've learned in week one of year 12...
.: new stationery is good and colourful and clean and un-lost
.: the transition to year 12 from year 11 is surprisingly not that bad
.: trying to teach a group of 150 girls a boring song is one of the hardest things you will ever do
.: do not forget to do your homework
.: lockers in Upper Maths are bad. Lockers outside the Library (excuse me, Information and Technology Centre) are better, but still not good.
.: the bus should not leave at 4:00pm, but somehow it still manages to
.: being late for your bus because you went to the deli is not a good idea (but is good fun)
.: doing something nice for your friend makes you happy =]
.: early morning music rehearsals are very overrated
.: Grey's Anatomy is your friend if you feel sad/stressed
.: sometimes saying the things that are on your mind to someone you trust is a good way of clearing your head
.: organisation is the key! (to success *ugh*)
.: RAPS is overrated. So is P.E.
.: do your notes asap otherwise they will never get done
.: too many assessments is not good for your health
.: salads for lunch are good, despite you not making friends with them
.: book audition places and times ASAP otherwise you may get stuck with yucky places
.: do not get distracted 100% FOCUS!!!
.: Group Training hurts lots
.: do not pick at your nailpolish otherwise it looks weird and bitten
.: do not forget your diary otherwise you will FAIL AT LIFE
.: don't walk into Year Eight classes or they will laugh at you
.: tell people to move on the stairs
.: smile and enjoy every second of it, cos it will be over way too soon

year twelve
Officially started and begun and well into it.
I'm so excited.
I love this year already!
I'm already feeling a bit of the stress, but I'm organized and timetabled and efficient.
I already know about ten assessments for this term (four of them Lit ones), but that will increase very quickly in the next two days.
We've worked out Arts Fest related things.
This is good.
Very good.
I've missed my friends. I'm glad I got to see them again.
Positioning may suck. But we'll get over it, right?
Yes.
Yay!!!!

it all starts tomorrow
As of tomorrow, I am officially in Year Twelve. It feels kind of anticlimactic, you know? Like I thought I'd be so much more...'there', than I am at the moment. But I suppose that's what always happens? In any case, I was kind of ambivalent towards it for most of the holidays, but to be honest, right now, I'm really excited. I want this year. I want to succeed and finish and grow and learn and start on the future. It should be amazing.
Here is another tribute also, to the two greatest grandparents in the whole world.

tribute to Malaysia 2007
Only the best holiday ever.
Some great things:
* Shopping - speaks for itself!
* The breakfast at the Westin (our Hotel in KL). Only the most amazing thing I have ever ever ever seen.
(the guy making the crepes)
* Sunway Lagoon! I will never be able to go to Adventure World again, it has ruined it for me.
(some of my new Sunway Lagoon friends)
* Pretty fingernails on the beach in Penang!
* George - only the sweetest person ever! He was a massage guy on the beach, and we were friends so I got them free! And he taught Jarrad and I magic tricks - I can make a coin disappear =]

* The Holiday Inn people who worked at the Water Sports - especially Maureen, JoJo and Din. Best people.
* Bowling with the Gills! We always manage to find people we know on a holiday. This time we knew the Gills, the Judes, a few people dad worked with, some people from the footy club, a guy dad went to highschool with, a person who's best friends with a girl I work with, some people we go to church with and another family that I don't know how we know them, but we do! We spent a bit of time with the Gills though - and bowling was pretty awesome!
(it's all about the pose)
* Iceys from Long Beach Plaza.
* The DVD guy. We bought about 200 DVDs all up, and every single one we could think of, he would hand to us in a second. Coolest person ever!

And I could keep going and going and going and going...but I won't. Although I am most definitely going back to Penang, as soon as I can. I love holidays! And I miss my beach people. But no time to rest, school's back on Monday so I need to get organized!!

mmm
... Deliver me now from everything we should not do
It's so unpredictable, but still you know just what you're gonna do
And even the moments that fall flat
Something is different, even though its hard to mean that
I wasn't listening ...

news update
So, the exciting *ahem* events, occurrences and statements for Monday...
* One more sleep!!!
* Tried on the bridesmaid dress - despite being quite distraught at the idea the colour they had selected was called 'Sour Olive', it turns out it is actually 'Bower (sp??)' Olive. So that, of course makes it a million times better. But I still haven't seen the colour, so therefore it doesn't mean all that much. The dress is pretty though. Very pretty =]
* There is going to be someone living in my room while we're away. That's kind of weird, in that, you know, my room is my room, and people come in all the time, but it's strange to think someone else will be using it, and sitting at my desk and sleeping in my bed, like it all belongs to them. Odd.
* I love my friends, fo' shiz.
* I don't like being blackmailed for information, which is most definitely not the shiz.
* I miss Emma already!! A whole year - that's just crazy.
* The weather has officially gone schizo.
* Mmmmm, tea...

ready for...
* this year. Ready to make some changes that are going to be necessary if I want to maintain my level of mental health. And to actually let the future take care of itself, instead of me fighting it to go a different way. Ooohhh yeah
(Side note: Happy Birthday Johannes for yesterday, even though it was another day. But I like birthday parties =] and quality cake in big houses)
* being at this place...

Big pool, nice beaches, night shopping, no commitments or expectations...*sigh*. Two sleeps!

it's the little things
+ finally getting a proper work shirt
+ seeing the family
+ hearing from longlost people
+ weddings and pretty dresses
+ looking at new houses
+ photo taking
+ Ruoccos seafood pizza
+ three days till freedom
- people making everything into something serious
- lack of replyations
- early shifts at work
- people who overuse sweet, simpering, pathetic language (e.g. i love you, honey, gorgeous, babe/baby) - moderation is fine, but saying it all the time with NO REASON...*breathes deeply*
- training new people
- people who are permanently sad
- being tired

exercising does not make you happy

All that rubbish on Legally Blonde about exercising give you endorphins which make you happy is a pile of crap. Basically through the last hour, I spent my time thinking how much I wanted to throw up, how much I wanted to kill (okay not kill, but be really annoyed and jealous of) all the good people who have been going along to training goodness for ages and are good at it, and how much my arms/stomach hurt. Not so much the legs. But my right arm, at about just above the elbow, is in absolute agony.
All I can say is at least Craig was nice to Andrea (SO GOOD TO HAVE HER BACK IN PERTH) and I while we sweated and panted our way through way too many running things. Now I have to miss two before I go back again and I'm going to be even MORE unfit than everyone else!
Ew.

silver anniversaries
Officially today, mum and dad have been married for 25 years. That is one heck of a long time. I actually can't believe that. What with all the talk of new marriages and stuff, it's strange to think how long they really last. Like, it really is a lifetime. How much that freaks me out I can't even put into words. I can't imagine just knowing that you want to spend your entire life with that one special person. It's nan and pop's 50th wedding anniversary soon too. FIFTY YEARS. That is a mindboggling amount of time. The scariest thing is the way they talk about how lucky they were to be able to HAVE fifty years of marriage, seeing the whole Cancer thing. I don't like thinking about the future. Not seriously thinking about it.

weddings, weddings, weddings

Usually I am an avid lover of weddings. I love the dresses, and the food, and the pretty flowers, and the smiley, teary people, and the love. But right now, weddings are starting to upset and confuse myself.
Wedding #1: Bronwyn Peters
My piano teacher for I think, five years? Anyway, she's getting married on Saturday! Which is very exciting and everything - I remember the lessons when she'd make me promise to practice pieces to play at her wedding, and now it's actually here! Obviously, I won't be playing at it, seeing as I am quite a terrible pianist now, but still she is getting married. But because we only found out today that the big wedding is at 2:30 on Saturday, I had to completely reorganize my shifts. Which caused an interruption with wedding #2.
Wedding #2: Andrea Meerwald
My (2nd) cousin is FINALLY getting married in April! Which is, of course, incredibly exciting. What makes it more so is she asked me to be one of her bridesmaids! Along with one of her sisters, and her friend. So of course, now that she's moved back (yay!) from NSW, we have to go dress shopping. At the same time I swapped my shift to be so I could go to wedding #1. I really really really hope Leonie chooses something that doesn't make me look like anything resembling a camel, cow or other heinous animal, or choose a really depressing colour. But onto more pressing things: Leonie is a fitness freak. And also a Personal Trainer. So she is coercing Andrea into mandatory PT sessions on Thursday nights in order to look fabulous for her big day. And me, on a massive guilt trip, feels as though she should join in. So NOW look what this wedding is doing to me!
Wedding #3: Ben Scorer to Sarah somethingsomething
This wedding isn't till, like I think 2008 or something. Which is cool. But they are planning NOW, which means we have to be excited about it for a year. And we've already been excited about it for six months. Weddings are very exciting, but excitedness loses its exciting edge once it is being stretched over an extended time period.
*sigh* All this love
new years resolution - well on its way!
Okay, so for all of you who've decided this year, being fit and healthy is the way to go, I totally recommend you get Dance Factory.
It was a Christmas present of mine this year, following my new-found addiction to Dance Dance Revolution, most commonly found at Timezone in Freo. And I found out that in fact, you can do fitness DDR, whereby you dance and it tells you how many calories you burnt! AND EVEN BETTER....it insults you!! If you miss a step or something, it comes up with such flattering comments as GETTING FLABBY and PORK OFF, among other things. Talk about motivation! So even though at first you may feel offended, you will soon realize you are taking offence from a screen, which means basically you can get really angry and hit your feet twice as hard, do better, burn more calories and ACE THAT NEW YEARS RESOLUTION.
Oohhhh yeah =]

Good-bye parties make me sad!
Soon Emma goes to Brazil and leaves us all behind = [
And because I'll be away when she officially leaves for her 12-month stint in the land of Portugese-speaking, soccer-loving people, I am officially making this my tribute to one of the happiest, awesomest, loveliest people I know! Will miss you Emma = [ and I will wear my watch with pride and think of you everytime I look at it!

(Belated) New Years Resolutions
I've left it a little late, but I've decided I should probably come up with some! Besides, just cos everyone else has a four-day headstart doesn't mean they don't count as much =]
1. Get a new job after exams. NO MORE BREAD. EVER.
2. Actually pay attention to the healthy eating article that I stuck on my wall.
3. Instead of letting it collect dust, read that Bible so I can actually know God and not pretend I do.
4. Maintain organization in my room. Not to be confused with immaculate order, this resolution involves me being able to find things in five minutes instead of twenty.
5. Stay away from the computer when studying/homeworking.
6. Acheive that 97/98 TER in an attempt to get into Law/Communications Studies at Yew-Dub.
7. Decide what uni course I want to do so I don't cause the parentals to throw money down the toilet.
8. Save up enough money to go to England in January 2008 - or strike up a deal to get myself there.
9. Be honest with myself and others - here is where some DWYSYWD and other such fun acronyms can actually be acted out, instead of just being fun words to say.
10. **not for you dearest invisible readers to read**
