Since the advertising frenzy has restarted with Mothers' Day tomorrow, I have now come to the conclusion that Mothers' Day and Valentine's Day are almost exactly the same thing.
*My Reasons For Why They Are Almost The Same*
1. Both have a lot of pink, red, love hearts, jewelry and cards involved
2. Both are highly commercialized, and have become reasons for many companies to flog their products at a 'reduced price' because 'Mum/Your girl/boyfriend will love it!'
3. Both are about love - admittedly different 'types' of love, but still, love
4. Both are about 'celebrating' something that should be part of everyday life - you should show your mum how much you love her every day, not on the one day of the year where you are 'supposed' to. And you should show your girl/boyfriend/partner how much you love THEM every day, not just on the one special day you are 'supposed to'.
I rest my case.
