Ooo Dinner!!!

summer ... fruit!!

^^ juicy mangoes *crave*

I have just made the executive decision that one of the best things of summer is the fruit. Now usually I'm not totally stoked about fruit - like I eat it, and like it and stuff, but I don't RAVE about it. However, summer fruits are the absolute best things in the entire universe. Mangoes, seedless green grapes (yes, I'm picky), plums, nectarines, good watermelon, good rockmelons, mulberries...mmm crave!

Second day back was pretty good - I'm still trying to get used to the new classes, I was so adjusted to the year ten classes that everyone having random classes at different times, and having relatively random people in all my classes is taking a while to adjust to. I'll be right though - Intro Calc is easy so far, Media - a bit of a let down so far, but it should get better soon, Lit - still a little strange, Ms. Paul talks too much which really gets to me, but it'll be okay, History - still love it, Mrs Amble is so organized, and the topic rocks, and Stevo offered me his essays from last year to understand it a little better, so it's great, Chem and P&L - still clueless, still haven't had a lesson yet! I'm really excited about Chem, as lame as that sounds, but I really like it, and it's just so logical that it doesn't take too much brainpower.

The two little year eights managed to miss the bus this afternoon, so I was very lonely, and had noone to talk to, cos CATTY DITCHED ME FOR VOLLEYBALL, which I guess is actually fair enough, Volleyball is probably more interesting, but there you have it. So now I've given them a detailed description of where to go, so they should be fine.

I actually have to really read my History texts, because we have a test in two weeks - talk about working our butts off! And I might revise Intro Calc - I've forgotten what we did already, all I remember of class was having these cake things Sally brought in - they were soooo good!

first days

I have decided I love first days. Like I think I've said before, it just has that vibe to it - new stationery, new timetable, new teachers, old friends... it was great. Catching the bus the first day back was great too - baha! Well, it wasn't GREAT but it didn't suck either, so a happy medium. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with my teachers, I'd love to swap to be in Lindsay's English Lit class, but according to Ms. Maseyk, it's impossible. So I'll just have to deal, which won't be too hard, because Ms. Paul seems really nice.

Well, the day started off cool, with the bus trip and all - who can beat the walk to the bus stop with every car looking at you funny cos you're wearing your uniform three days before all the other schools go back - and getting our diaries and timetables and new, speccy badges, but then at assembly a friend of mine, who had a white streak in her hair, was completely breaking down because she was going to get sent home to get rid of the white streak, and her mum had an ultimatum to meet that one, so she wasn't too happy. However, it was all fixed by after the longest assembly in the entire world, and life is now good. Lit seems like it's going to be good, and Intro Calc? Well, it's maths, and suppose we can't really do any better with it. History - I'm in LOVE with it already, Mrs Amble is an absolute champ, and History gets me, so it's great.

Mum and dad are off to pick up Jarrad after his first day at Wesley, which will be interesting to hear about tonight over dinner - hopefully mum got inspired and decided to make something super nice. Doubtful, but there's still hope!

Alrighty, I'm off to go and organize my diary etc. Hehe! Newness!!

some things i have learned...

* don't try to read into everything people say. take lots of things at face level - life is a lot easier then
* if you want people to like you, be happy around them! it makes them appreciate you more than if you are sad around them.
* listen to the guy up the front. he usually has some good things to say.
* reading does not make you a nerd
* popularity is a state of mind (and yes! i came up with that myself!) (and want me to explain? ask away)
* even if something isn't what you expect it to be, stick with it, because eventually you'll get something out of it, even if that something isn't what you were expecting in the first place.
* you don't have to take EVERY opportunity, because you just might wear yourself out
* (stolen from Uncle Col) Relationships, relationships, relationships
* (also stolen from Uncle Col) DWYSYD - do what you say you will do!

I could keep going, but it is bed time. School beckons tomorrow!!

Z - ZYLSTRAH!!! (The question was actually Zodiac sign, but those things are stupid).

school tomorrow?!

I can't believe that school is tomorrow! I realized at eight o'clock this morning, after I had bagged about twelve thousand rolls, and felt like dying.

Okay, not that emo or extreme, but I wasn't too excited. However, we did the whole 'try on the uniforms and have a photo together' thing for my nan and pop, cos Jarrad's starting Wesley and having a 'real' uniform. So now we have a lot of beautiful photos all dressed up.

BAHA!!!! We look so stupid. Anyway, I have to reorganize my schoolbag, because I realized that the pencil case I planned on using, despite its ability to hold my graphics, is CRAP and I'm swapping back to my old one. What a dilemma, I know *pokes out tongue*.

Well, I'm going to go get out of my sexy St Hilda's uniform and put on my budget jeans - back to my usual self *smiles happily*.

Laters!

another pointless update

Finally finished my shift, dull as anything as usual. Actually no - I've discovered I am a fast worker, and that is a good thing. I've also discovered that I need to learn how to do afternoon shifts, because otherwise we will once again be stuck at work an hour past the time we need to be. So you learn a lot!

Tonight's my brother's orientation dinner at his new school, Wesley, so I have to go, which will be on big bundle of laughs. At least Kate's going. Everyone's like 'ooo hot boys!' and I just find myself thinking 'oo not!!!!!!' I don't get what the fascination is with checking out every guy that walks past, because in my personal opinion, a guy isn't made 'hot' by how he looks, but by who he is. But who am I to start getting philosophical? My brain is decomposing in my head from too much work, but my bank account is starting to rebuild itself after coughing up my half for the laptop. So, I suppose in the long run it's worth it.

Well school goes back in two days, and I'm choosing to be excited about it. Cat's catching the bus, so I'm being a nice friend and keeping her company, even though it means I have to get up half an hour before I'd have to if I was going to drive with Lindsay. Go figure. But we'll have fun, the first day of school always has that kind of zing to it, with wearing your freshly ironed uniforms and having brand new books and stationery and all that.

I've also discovered that although wireless is great, it is also a pain in the neck. It just disconnected itself twice! But who am I to complain? I get the internet free *smiles* thanks dad.

Okay I'm off, I think I need to go and shower. Bit too much information there for you? Tough *pokes out tongue*

bargains

Well today I got the best bargain of my life!
$16 jeans from K-Mart - boooonuuus!!

And Andrew and I spent our time making fun of emos - good times!

Everyone from youth is at Michelle's house having a movie marathon, however I need to work (what a joke) so I am at home. Must sleep now, but this laptop is pretty awesome!

Night all.

slacker

Okay, listen to my story and then tell me whether or not I did the right thing.

I worked today, ten till three, with a girl I have never met before, who's name is Amy. She was very nice, which was good, but had a bit of a story to tell, which kind of scared me. Let me say, getting stoned, drunk and raped doesn't seem like a great combination. However, it was pretty quiet at work, there were occasional bursts, but not enough to really stress about. But she spent a very very long time on the phone, and at the end of the day, while she was doing the takings and float, was on the phone for nearly an hour. Well, I swept, cleaned, mopped, dusted, invoiced, packed-up-computer-ed and everything, while she was on the phone, and it was half past three. And I was so frustrated that I just said I had to go and left.

However, now I'm home, I feel terrible. I feel like I should have stayed and helped her out. But I have never done an afternoon shift before and I didn't know what to do! So I wasn't much help anyway, because I had to keep interrupting her phone call to ask what to do!

So am I an evil child who needs whipping? Or was what I did fair?

Oh and by the way - Happy Australia Day!

How Boyish or Girlish Are You?

What Your Face Says
At first glance, people see you as warm and well-balanced.
Overall, your true self is moody and dynamic.
With friends, you seem dramatic, lively, and quick to react.
In love, you seem energetic - almost manic.
In stressful situations, you seem selfish and moody.
What Do People Think Of Your Face?

^^ okay I agree with most of that, except for the stressful part. I never get stressed! It's a gift *giggles*

guys

And I just had yet another random thought come into my head.

What is it about guys and them being able to mess so easily with a girl's mind? I think that we shouldn't let them have that privilege! Let us stand tall and fight them off with pickaxes.

But dang are they good at making us throw those pickaxes away.

So can someone please explain to me how on earth you get over someone who is both in love with and over you? Actually, how you get over someone anyway? Because for some reason, despite my mind always behaving itself and doing what I tell it too, it won't this time. And despite the fact I have a million guy friends to distract me, I can't completely eradicate everything that happened.

Cheer up emo kid *Zyll pokes self*

sleeeeeep

I've been really sleepy lately. And seeing as that isn't a good thing considering I have work and school all starting up in the next week, I need to get over that.
Anyway, so today Mich and I finally got around to going out for our plate of stuff as it is fondly known, but is really just a massive, heaped plate of food from Mandarin Wok. And it was so very tasty. But on account of my very frustrating mouth, I couldn't eat as much of the stuff that I wanted to, which was rather upsetting. But beforehand, we did our required tour of Garden City, which really didn't show us much except a dead fish in the pet shop and two puppies kinda...scaring us really! Then we met Catty, who kept us entertained by asking JayJays for their cardboard guitars - and they are going to give her one in two weeks. Which I find kind of scary. But it is good!! Cos that way I'll get one too. I always wanted a cardboard guitar...*looks confused*
Anyway, then we bussed it back to my house, where we pretty much died on the couch, after Cat had another argument with her mum over the phone. But it wasn't a bad one, just a typical teenager/parent discussion really. And then the only thing you can really do when you're with your mates - we made ice cream. *crave* It's basically condensed milk, whipped cream, crunchie and marshmallow, stirred together and chucked in the freezer - feel free to create your own unique styles. But hey - it tastes pretty good!
I'm also very frustrated with Dell - they post on the website my laptop will arrive today - but no!! It doesn't! I'm sure I can sue them for something...false advertising seems pretty good right now. However, that would cost me a lot more than the pay I'm currently waiting for from working 15 hours at bakery, so I might hold off on that and just hope it gets here Friday morning.
On another note, wow this entry is getting long, tomorrow is Australia Day. I remember last Australia Day was fun, a guy from church had a kind of get together at his place, and despite the fact that nothing I know of is happening that day, I have to work! Five hours, and man that is one heck of a lot of bread. But we are riding to the foreshore to check out the fireworks, so that's always pretty impressive.
And school in only four days! Since I can't decide whether or not to be happy about that, I'm just going to choose to be up about it, cos I can't do much to change it! Only a little frustrated at the fact the rest of the world goes back on WEDNESDAY while us SHAGS girls slog it out on Monday. Tough tough love they teach.
Signing off!!

birthdays

So it's dad's birthday today, and I've got to admit, it would have been a pretty anticlimatic one. I've decided I never want to go past say 25, so that all my birthdays are still exciting. But anyway, mum woke myself and my brother up early so we could give him his presents before she had to go to work. Which is a little ironic, because usually it's the other way around, where we have to get up at like five am to give out the presents so dad can go to work. But hey, it was good. He got a fishing thing, so lots of cutting up devices to dissect fish, which would have to be one of the grossest and smelliest jobs on the planet, and an AFL Trivia DVD game featuring Kevin Sheedy acting like an idiot. Surprise surprise say all those who don't support Essendon. Anyway, he seemed pretty happy all up. Then I had to fold all the pamphlets for my BROTHER'S paper round *sigh* but I got it done, and then we went out for lunch, go Garden City, went ALL the way to Kwinana to visit my grandma (my dad's mum) at her nursing home, except of course she wasn't there. Go figure. So I went through a verbal driving course from dad on the way home to at least make use of a relatively pointless trip. Then we went to the Fremantle Team Store, which is really small and kind of a letdown, but we saw Grover, Pavlich, Medhurst and some other very friendly Freo players, which made it all very worthwhile *big cheesy smile*. Okay, so it's Perth, we don't get REAL celebrities, so we make do with our footy team. So tonight we get to go out for Nando's and no doubt have some family bonding over a board game which will most likely end in tears. You've got to love families =)

working

So I'm finally back from my exciting five hour shift...it should only have been four hours, but I decided yesterday to be nice and stay back another hour so the girl who was going out to Freo last night to get smashed had some extra time to deal with her hangover. Except now she's ubersick, so that's just bad all round. And I have another shift on Tuesday...I'm getting way to good at sweeping and mopping. I didn't even make anyone slip over today! *snaps* for Zyll. As a warning though, to all people who haven't yet had their wisdom teeth out and will eventually get that done - it is painful for a VERY long time, and don't, at any costs, eat anything with even a remote amount of chewing, as you might never be able to recover. Also, the tablets are easier to swallow with Coke Zero (bahaha, check out that plug!!)

On another, rather random note, I got an invitation to go to Cott beach for a 'dip and dinner' with a bunch of school mates. I can't really be bothered, because I'm a lazy bum, and I apparenlty already have plans, so there weo go! I've decided being a girl really sucks, because everyone always has friendship issues, it's never all great. I've also discovered that if you choose to just be nice to everyone, everyone likes you and you have lots of friends, and you are saved from being the random person people forget to ask to things. And not that that is such a big issue, but I guess it's more that you are saved from behind-the-back stuff, and that definitely makes you sleep easier at night. *sigh* And then it will all end, and it's back to school...

eleven????

You Are 11 Years Old

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

*sigh* And last time I did this, I got nineteen...getting more immature by the day. Oh well, it's more fun that way =)

welcome...

^^Happy happy doughnuts from the UK - no reason, just thought they were cute =)
Well - I can't think of any reason for me to have this blog. Other than Livejournal I am well over, and I guess I need SOMETHING to post to. Anyway, say hello to Zyll's first blog entry, full of unexcited nothingness, just as she is, because my wisdom teeth have been ripped from my mouth and I am left hurting with an exciting diet of yogo *cringe* and tuna for the next couple of days. So much for saying no to painkillers - I think I would have broken everything in the house without them.

So until I get my brand new laptop (YAAY!) which took me the entire summer holidays of work at City Beach a.k.a. shop for emo/surfie braindead people, to be able to afford my half, but was well worth it, I'm relatively photoless. However, I happen to love photos, and will DEFINITELY put in the effort to post some, because what's the fun in using a camera if no-one can see your work?

If you happen to accidentally stumble across my VERY humble blog - I'm afraid I might sound rather emo at the moment. Whilst I am NOT in any way shape or form devoting my life to depression, in fact I'm trying (not too hard at the moment, but that's another story) to devote it to the big guy in the sky, I have been at my exciting little job at Brumby's bakery (mm, bread) since six thirty this morning, and have been on about three types of tablets due to my teeth, so I am both tired and doped up. So I'm SORRY!! About my emo-ness if I am. So for now I will sign off, see if this worked, and then no doubt post again in...say...the next hour. If I can hold out that long!!
